The 1/4" UNC Second Hand Tap (20 TPI) is designed for cutting accurate internal coarse threads in suitable metal workpieces.
This intermediate or second-stage tap features a 1/4"-20 UNC thread profile, making it suitable for general engineering, fabrication, maintenance and workshop applications.
The second tap is commonly used after a taper tap to continue forming the thread. For blind holes requiring threads close to the bottom, a matching bottoming tap may also be required.
